Celebration!!
Earth Day 2017 Celebration, Monday, April 24th
Students plan to have a celebration of their green school and agriculture-based efforts around Earth Day, 2017. During this event, student advocates will be leading and educating attendees on the benefits of their greening efforts and will offer an information-filled handout about recycling and techniques of conserving energy, music, food, and a good time! There will be stations set up around the outdoor area for students to create their own artsy flower pots and plant seeds to take home, make bird feeders to hang around the school, and sign a pledge to become more conscientious of individual greening efforts. Teachers, students, and the community can ask questions and even take ideas back to their homes and work, as motion to begin their own movements of becoming more green. Our event is planned to take place on April 24, towards the end of the school day. Funding is provided by our partnership with the YMCA, Ms. Wilkins.
