RFL Flower Box Project
The Falcons Fly Green Team designed flower boxes in the Summer of 2016 to be displayed in the front of our school for all to enjoy. When students and school staff returned to RFL in the Fall, the freshly painted boxes displayed school-colored yellow mums with yellow wild flowers accented around the flag pole. While these flower boxes were appealing to the eye, they provided food and shelter to local insects that would later take the pollen to pollinate around the area. While students take care of the flowers throughout the year, they are educated on basic plant care, as well as the creatures that are benefiting from the addition of the flowers.

Courtyard Ponds
Members of the RFL Falcons Fly Green Team plan to utilize a portion of the grant money that they were awarded to install a pond structure in the garden space of the school's courtyard. With this project taking place in the Spring semester of 2017, students have time to plan the structure and placement of the pond setup. Students will be researching the species of animals that can benefit from this addition, and will be able to enjoy the aesthetics of the display outside with their friends, teachers, and colleagues.
